Itinerary |
After breakfast we went on the Beaujolais bus tour (note: 'becca hates bus
rides!). As this is our last full day on board we organized our belongings
somewhat. I picked up some cough syrup prior to the tour. The countryside
around Mâcon is gorgeous. The temp was cool for a change. After a brief
stop at some cliffs overlooking some vineyards we went to a tour &
tasting at Chateau de Pierreclos (nice tour of this old castle-style
chateau). None of the wines tasted were exciting, but the retail shop had
some interesting stuff (I purchased a '98 Domaine des Sénéchaux CNdP for
80FF to have with tonight's dinner).
Wines: We re-boarded ~12:15. We picked up a piece of pizza and a croissant as part of our food study. We had lunch on board (see menu below). We drank a carafe of white bourgogne. Lunch: In the late afternoon I watched as some of the group played a British version of Trivial Pursuit (some tough, obscure British questions/trivia!) as the boat cruised back toward Lyon. We did some serious suitcase packing and prepared our tip envelopes. We decided the major share should go to Sybille, our cabin attendant, as she was fantastic. The wait staff and maître d' each got equal shares. We prepared for dinner and headed to the lounge for a final cocktail with our traveling companions. Prior to dinner I distributed all the tip envelopes. After dinner, Steve S tried to organize a last get-together off the boat, but neither 'becca nor I had the energy to go out at 10:00pm. Dinner: Wines:
