Itinerary   Still cruisin' upriver towards Lyon. We're headed to Trévoux. Breakfast: the usual suspects. In Trévoux 'becca & I decided to try our luck at lunch. We settled on Restaurant Joel Charlot in the Hotel de L'Europe. Lunch was very nice, but no one spoke English.

Lunch: 'becca had steak with red wine sauce; I had a foie gras appetizer, then chicken in cream sauce; for dessert we both had ice cream; our wine was a '96 Chinon (Loire red) Chateau de Sonnay (pretty good!)

We tried to get more cough syrup, but the pharmacie didn't have the one we'd been using. We went back to the boat ~3:00. Dinner was an ambitious menu, as it was the Farewell Dinner.

Dinner:
· Smoked Goose Breast on Mango Salad
· Clear Essence of Tomatoes
· Mesclun Salad
· Salmon-Shrimp Tart with Lobster Sauce
· Pineapple Sorbet
· Beef Tenderloin with Morels and Vegetables
· Cheese Cart
· Ice Cream Bombe

Wines:
· St. Péray sparkling wine
· Steve S offered a taste of his '97 Jamet Côte Rôtie and his '98 Moillard Grivot Meursault
· '95 Charmes Chambertin
· '95 Chapoutier Banyuls "Old Vines" (on deck after dinner)

When we arrived back in our room after dinner, we found a wonderful bottle of Krug Champagne and a card  "Congratulations, Newlyweds!" signed by all our fellow wine lovers.  It was such a thoughtful and wonderful treat.
